Plattsburgh Mary Virginia "Mary Gin" Fitzgerald, 86, formerly of Lake Forest, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2016 at the UVM CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in North Creek, NY, on February 17, 1930, the daughter of Dr. Andrew Barron and Elizabeth (Little) Fitzgerald. Mary Gin was an avid skier, and worked at both the Gore Mountain Ski Resort and the Lake Placid Club. She also worked as a realtor, flight attendant and dental hygienist. Mary Gin had a love for art, especially painting. She was instrumental in establishing the Fitzgerald family reunion, which has been held annually for thirty years. While a resident at Lake Forest, she conceived the idea for the "Song Birds", the residents' chorus, and was active in the residents' council. Mary Gin was predeceased by her parents, and her siblings; Barron, Jack, Desmond, Richard, Thomas, Joan, and Mary Patricia. Mary Gin is survived by her sisters, Carol Dirolf and Maureen Fitzgerald of Plattsburgh, and several nieces and nephews. There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh, NY. Burial will be at a later date in St. James Cemetery in North Creek, NY.
