Mary Ann Mitchell

Mary Ann Mitchell passed away on July 22nd 2026 at her home in Plattsburgh NY with her loving family by her side. Mary was born in Plattsburgh NY on August 17th 1941 to parents Theodore and Luvella Supernaw. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She worked as a nurses aide at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh NY for 40 years. She loved being a care giver and helping people through the most difficult times. She could be counted on to put a smile on your face and a warmth in your heart. Mary enjoyed spending time with family and going to bingo. Her steadfast faith in God was why she always had a smile on her face and a kind word.

Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years Gary Mitchell, her son Ricky Mitchell, her sister Diane Griffin, her brothers Richard Boyer, Daniel Boyer, Theodore Supernaw and her parents Theodore and Luvella Supernaw. The survivors who are left to cherish her loving memories are her children Melissa Ashline and her husband Myron, Kevin Mitchell, Jeff Mitchell and his wife Lyne; her sisters Linda Lafountain, Dorothy Meyer, Terri Harrington, Robin Winterbottom; her brother Donald Supernaw, her grandchildren Kristen Chaffee and husband John, Eric Mitchell and wife Katelyn, Ryan Mitchell and Dylan Ashline; her great grandchildren, Lochlan, Conrad, Waverly Chaffee and Paxton Mitchell.

At Mary's request their will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday July 29, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
