Mary J. Sorrell (Lovejoy), 84, of Altona, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home. She was born in Plattsburgh on December 13, 1941, the daughter of the late Felix and Mabel Lovejoy.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Joseph S. Sorrell and her eleven siblings.
She is survived by her children, Matthew, Timothy, Tammy, Michele, and Michael, along with their spouses; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary enjoyed tending to her flowers, reading the Bible, and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows. In her younger years, she loved horses, singing, playing the guitar, camping, and traveling with her family.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A burial mass will take place in the spring at Holy Angels Church in Altona, New York.
