Maude J Coon

January 24, 1938 — January 12, 2022

Maude Janet “Chick” Coon was a beloved great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, and wife during her 83 years of life here on earth. On January 12, 2022, she entered eternal rest, in Peasleeville, NY.
Maude was born on January 24, 1938 on her parent’s farm, Wilfred and Jennie (LaFountain) in Peasleeville. She left her home and lived in Morrisonville, NY with her husband, Sam, where she raised her five children. Growing up and working on the farm laid the foundation of her work ethics, her hands were rarely still, and she led a purposeful and sincere life. She shared her love for gardening, camping, knitting, and cooking with her family. Her gifts of strawberry jam, sliders, and pecan tassies were an invitation to her children to come home for a visit and visit we did. The love and support that she provided to her family was her greatest gift of all.
Maude is survived by her children: Randy (Vicky) Darrah, David (Laurie) Darrah, Brenda (John) Rock, Samuel Coon Jr. (Marie) and Janet Dame (Arnold). Her grandchildren: Kerry, Jason, David Jr., Randy Jr., Marci, Samuel III, Michael, Dana, Justin, Deanne, and Nicholas and 26 great-grandchildren. Her brother Walter (Linda) Fournier and 33 nieces and nephews. Maude was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Samuel, her siblings: Francis, Marie, Charles, Grace, Lena, Margaret and Louis and two nieces.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at a later date at Assumption of Mary Church in Redford, NY.
