Maureen S King

Plattsburgh Maureen S. "Moe" King, 46, of Cogan Ave. Plattsburgh, NY, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. She was born April 7, 1965 in Plattsburgh, New York the daughter of Wayne and Sheila (Camfield) King. Moe graduated from Plattsburgh High School, Class of 1983 and received her Bachelors Degree and Masters in Education from Plattsburgh State University College. At the time of death she was a fifth grade teacher at Oak Street Elementary School. Moe will be remembered for her passion for teaching and connecting with her students. She enjoyed gardening, photography, traveling, hiking, taking motorcycle rides, cooking and entertaining and was an animal lover. She is survived by her two children Ryan Pepper of Plattsburgh, NY, and Meagan Pepper of Syracuse, NY; her fiancé Stephen Buergin of Plattsburgh, NY, her parents Wayne and Sheila King of Lynchburg, VA, her siblings, Laureen White and her husband Todd of Woodstock, VA, Kyle King and his wife RoseAnn of Lenox, MA, Kathleen Warren and her husband Greg of Roanoke, VA, her canine companion Allie, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. Maureen was predeceased by her paternal grandparents George and Mary King and her maternal grandparents Edward and Lois Camfield. Calling hours will be Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 12, 2011 at 10:00 at St. Peter's Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers friends wishing may make donations to the Maureen S. King Scholarship Fund which will be established.
