Michael Joseph Bushey

After a two-year battle with cancer, Michael Joseph Bushey, 59, of Plattsburgh, NY, passed away at his home May 15th, surrounded by his loved ones. Michael was born August 4, 1957 to Leo and Lucille (Heidt) Bushey. After graduating from Plattsburgh High School, he entered the work force in the field of carpentry, following in his father's footsteps. He spent time in North Carolina, Colorado and California before returning to Plattsburgh to raise his family. Michael loved spending time with his family and fishing at their camp on the Chazy River. He was also an avid coin collector. He would spend hours sorting through coins, always on the lookout for the latest addition to his collection. He is survived by his children; Shawney Bushey of Georgia, Vermont, Cody Bushey and his fiancée, Leah Short of Gansevoort, New York, Devan Bushey and Talon Bushey, both of Plattsburgh, as well as his longtime companion, Carla Aubin Stout. He is also survived by his siblings; Marta Taylor, Daniel Bushey, Richard Bushey, David Bushey, Mary Jo Jubert and Jamie Hall, their spouses, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Lucille Bushey, and two sisters, Barbara Bushey and Elizabeth (Mikey) Leavine. Services will be private.
