Michael A. Whyman, 60, of Standish, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 25, 2019. He was born in Plattsburgh on October 27, 1958, the son of William and Edna (Furnia) Whyman.
Michael graduated from NAC and attended SUNY Plattsburgh. He served his country as Crew Chief in the US Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he worked for Georgia Pacific and later he was a dedicated employee at Lowe’s in Plattsburgh, employed since 2001, working as a sales specialist. He was a true outdoorsmen and a lover of animals, especially dogs. He enjoyed reading history books, watching Judge Judy, and playing video games with life-long friend Richard “Dicky” Rabideau.
He was predeceased by his parents, step-father Robert Koschak, his brother William, and his niece Sara Pekrul.
Michael is survived by his siblings; Robert Whyman, Kevin Whyman , Donna Eads, Carolyn Ianelli, Elaine Peralta, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00am-11:00am, Friday, May 31, 2019 at St. Bernard’s Church in Lyon Mountain. A Catholic Mass will follow at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Elmore SPCA.
