Michele Marie Gibson

It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Michele Marie Gibson, of Plattsburgh, New York. She passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, after a courageous and long fought battle with Multiple Sclerosis and breast cancer.

 Born on March 9, 1967 in Brooklyn, New York to Mrs. Barbara (Barcomb) Gibson and Mr. John Gibson. Michele was a person of immense resilience who met life's hurdles with grace and a kind soul that never dimmed having been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at 22 years old. Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Michele lived the last 20 years at CVPH Skilled Nursing and Clinton County Nursing Home as a true testament to human strength.

Michele is survived by her mother, Barbara, sister, Toni and her brother in law, Chris as well as her niece, Dayna, and nephew, Christopher and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Michele was predeceased by her father, John, her sister, Sharon, maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents as well as uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh, New York. There will be a Catholic Mass at St. Peter's Church, Plattsburgh, NY. on May 27, 2026 at 10 o'clock and burial will follow at Saint Louis Cemetery in Sciota, NY at 12 o'clock.

The family would like to thank the staff of R7 for their compassion in the final days of Michele's life, as well as the staff of Clinton County Nursing Home for their many years of love and care of Michele, especially Angela for her devotion to her care.
