Nora Louise Jean

Plattsburgh

Nora Louise Jean, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Adirondack Medical Center at the age of 72. She was born in Henderson, NV on March 27th, 1954 , the daughter of Henry "Lou" Keiser and Lois (Alley) Keiser.

Nora graduated from Rancho High School in Las Vegas, NV in 1972. She lived there until 1986 when she moved with her husband and daughter to Plattsburgh AFB in NY. Nora worked for Sears until 1992. She then worked at Sam's Club for many years before transferring over to Wal-Mart. She retired in 2018.

Nora was the nicest person you could ever meet, and everyone who met her loved her. She would give you the shirt off her back, and always lived to please others. She enjoyed spending time with her family - especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She especially treasured attending sporting events for her grandchildren. Supporting them, cheering them on, and sharing in their accomplishments brought her great joy. Nora also enjoyed visiting local parks and zoos, as well as just sitting on the front porch watching her grandchildren play in the yard. She always loved spending time with her family, especially having family dinners and getting everyone together for birthdays and holidays.

Nora loved animals, and belonged to many Facebooks groups that followed the births of zoo animals (her favorite being the hippos, Fiona and Fritz, from the Cincinnati Zoo). She was an adventurous woman, and she encouraged family and friends to pursue their dreams and do whatever made them happy. She traveled, went skydiving, had the most piercings out of everyone in the family, and had more tattoos than most grandmas. She visited Notre Dame, the botanical gardens in Croatia, the bath houses in Hungry, walked across Giants Causeway, and took silly photos in front of Big Ben. She loved seeing the glaciers and seeing the whales while in cruising through Alaska. But some of her favorite trips were family trips to the beach and Disneyworld. She was a loving, caring, compassionate, truly incredible woman who will be dearly missed.

Nora will be remembered for her strength, her generous spirit, and the many lives she touched through her work, her service, and her love. Her legacy is one of care, commitment, and quiet determination, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 44 years, Robert Jean; her daughter, Nikki Schmidt and her husband Patrick; her grandchildren: Britney Bridges and her fiancé David Girard of CT, Dylon Bridges and his girlfriend Cari Prentiss, Cole Bridges and his girlfriend Shellie Darrah, Wyatt Bridges and his girlfriend Lily Siskavich, Sara Dupont, Hallie Schmidt and her boyfriend Adam King; siblings: Joann Wales of TX, Rene Keiser of AZ, Nadia Keiser of AZ, and Benjamin Keiser of AZ; sister-in-law: Mary Keiserof MT; great grandchildren: Xylas and Phoenix; nieces and nephews: Troy Keiser and his wife Carrie of MT, Denise Goldman and her husband Paul of WY, Traci Gomez of CA, Jennifer Williams and her husband Ace of TX, and Alissa Holloway of TX. Nora had a special place in her heart for her foreign exchange grandchildren: Jeda, Veikko, Yok, Kaede, Clara, Matt, Pablo, Ale, Zack, Giulia, Raquel, and Leandro.

She is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Robert Keiser of MT.

At Nora's request, there will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time at the convenience of the family.
