Panayota “Pat” Larios, also known as “Yaya” to many, age 93, former longtime resident of Plattsburgh New York, passed away on January 26, 2021 in Schenectady, New York after a brief illness.
Pat was born in Paleopagnia, Laconia, Greece to Mataxia Diadmandakos and Stelio Stelianopolos on January 12, 1928. She immigrated to Canada in 1948 following World War II. She met and was married to George Mack Larios in the spring of 1959 in Plattsburgh, New York, who preceded her in death in June 1977.
She was a selfless mother, devoted to raising her two children; a wonderful homemaker and self-employed seamstress. She possessed incredible personal strength and drive. She loved flowers and gardening and dearly loved her grandchildren. Faithful follower of the Greek Orthodox faith.
Pat is survived by her children and their families: Michael and Dianne Larios of Severna Park, Maryland; Rob and Dr. Steffani Cotugno of Niskayuna, New York; grandchildren Rebecca, George, and Danielle Larios; and Lorenzo, Gigi, and Tony Cotugno,
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., January 28, 2021 at Hans Funeral Home, Albany, New York.
Funeral services will be private at St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church in Troy, New York with Fr. Emmanuel Mantzouris, officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in Plattsburgh, New York. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh, New York.
Memorials may be given to St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church, Troy, New York.
The family wishes to extend our sincere appreciation to the staff of Kingsway Community, including the Manor and the Village, for the support of her care over the past several years; also, for the special comfort care given by the staff at Ellis Hospital, Units C-1 and C-4; special thanks to Dr. George Giokas and Pat’s special nurse Serena and aide Devi at Kingsway for their compassion and care.
