Reginald S. Burdo, 89, of Ashley Road, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at the UVM Health Network-CVPH with family by his side.
He was born in Plattsburgh on July 30, 1929, the son of the late Lester and Elsie (Bourdeau) Burdo.
Reginald was employed by the Guy Ice Cream Plant for many years and in 1959 purchased the family dairy farm with his wife Olive. They worked the farm for many years and he also drove a bus for Beekmantown Central School. He retired from farming in 1973 and bus driving in 1985. They later enjoyed travelling the country for many years in their RV’s and especially enjoyed their trip circling the Continental U.S. He enjoyed carpentry and tinkering in his shop.
He is survived by his two daughters and sons in law; Katherine and Steven LaVarnway, Julie and Brian Giroux, a sister; Ola Hawke, several grandchildren ,great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased his wife Olive Burdo, his brothers; Loyal, Arnold, Robert, Fletcher and Lindsley Burdo, and his sisters; June Durnil, Gwen Reed, Carm Panton, Vanessa Racette, and Shirley Forgette.
There will be no public calling hours. Services will be private for his family. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery in Redford at a later date.
Memorial donations may be offered to the Alzheimers Assistance Center at SUNY Plattsburgh.
