Robert J. Dupras, 76, of Wallace Hill, Plattsburgh passed away August 16, 2026.
Bob was born in Plattsburgh, NY on May 6, 1950, the seventh child of John and Lucille Dupras (nee Lefebvre).
Raised in Lyon Mountain, Redford, and Clayburg, Bob enjoyed a childhood filled with family. After college at Alfred State, Bob joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon his return, he worked briefly at Peterson’s Music before opening his own store with his brother, Dave. Bob’s Music became a staple in the community for both aspiring and professional musicians. Above all, Bob believed in customer service, often helping musicians set up their sound systems, or finding them instruments and equipment to fit their needs. After over 25 years in the business. Bob retired, leaving the store in the capable hands of his associate Manson Glover. “Bob’s” continues to thrive as a part of the Plattsburgh community.
In retirement Bob could be found repairing tools, yard equipment, electronics, and anything else that he could take apart and put back together better than it was before.
Bob is survived by his daughters; Jennifer Dussault (Jason), and Renee Dupras; grandsons, Derren, Silas, Cash and Ezra; sister Myra Brooks, who was like a second mother to him; brother Mike and wife Billine, sister-in-law Kim Dupras, good friends Syd Haley and Eugene Dubrey, and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers (and their wives): Jack (Marie), Bill (Nancy), Dave (Juanita, Marietta) and Phil, and brother-in-law Ron Brooks.
Jennifer and Renee want to give a heartfelt thank-you to Aunt Myra for taking such good care of their father.
Please join us for a celebration of life on Sunday, August 23rd from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the American Legion in Lyon Mountain.
