Robert R. Jock

April 19, 1946 — April 17, 2026

Morrisonville, NY

Robert R. (Bobby) Jock, born April 19, 1946, in Plattsburgh, New York, a longtime resident of Morrisonville, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on April 17, 2026, at CVPH Medical Center.

Bob was a proud Marine who served his country, in Vietnam, from 1966 to 1968. In May 2025, he was given the honor to participate in the North Country Honor Flight.

Bob was a master painter and taper who worked for many local contractors until his retirement in 2020. Residents of Plattsburgh and the surrounding areas would book a year in advance, just to make sure they could get him to paint their homes.

Although this organization holds fast to anonymity as the spiritual foundation of all its traditions, Bob would tell you he was a grateful member of Alcoholics Anonymous. AA allowed Bob to become his best self, through 47 years of sobriety. It was within this organization that he, his wife and daughters met many wonderful people that became extended family.

Bob loved to hunt, fish, camp and travel the Caribbean. He was quick with a joke, loved stirring the pot, and making people laugh. Bob will be greatly missed by many who knew him.

Bob is predeceased by his loving wife Charlotte, parents George and Verla (Baldwin) Jock, sisters Hazel Crary, Marjorie Jock, and brother Donald Harris. He is survived by his daughters Bobbi-Jo “Precious” (Jock) Otis and her husband Adam (Favorite Son-in-Law) Otis of Cadyville, Kimberley “Princess” (Jock) Sorrell of Plattsburgh, sister Sandi Farbotko of West Chazy, and Brett “The Devil Made Me Do It” Baker of Plattsburgh, who was like a son, many nieces and nephews and several “adopted grandchildren”.

As per Bob’s wishes, there will be no funeral or wake. Instead, there will be a Celebration of Life, on Thursday April 30, 2026, at the VFW Post 125, Boynton Avenue Plattsburgh, from 3 pm-7 pm. Military honor ceremony will commence at 4 pm on site at the VFW.

The family asks that friends and family of Bobby’s come enjoy a meal of all his favorite foods, share a story, and laugh. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Country Honor Flight or a children’s charity of your choosing. One day at a time, keep coming back, sweet Jesus.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered at www.brownfuneralhomeny.com
