Robert F. Kellaway, of Dannemora, New York, born August 9, 1945, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. He will be remembered with great love and sadness by all who knew him.
Robert was a devoted husband, father, and friend whose life was defined by hard work, dedication, and love for his family. He took great pride in providing for those he loved and was known for his quiet strength, reliability, and warm, engaging presence that naturally drew people in.
He shared a deep and enduring love with his beloved wife, Robin C. Kellaway, who passed away on March 11, 2024. Together, they built a life centered on family, resilience, and lasting memories. He will be laid to rest beside her, reunited once more.
Robert had a deep love for being on the water and a lifelong passion for music—an appreciation he proudly passed down to his children. Their home was often filled with the sounds of CCR, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, and Johnny Cash. An avid guitar player, he found joy in playing music and sharing it with those around him. He also enjoyed grilling for family and friends, creating moments that brought everyone together.
A dedicated fan, he loved listening to Yankees games on the radio, a simple pleasure that brought him comfort and excitement.
He also had a strong love for sports, especially football. In his younger years, he served as a football coach and took great pride in the game. He also played basketball and carried that passion for sports throughout his life. More than anything, he was a proud and devoted father who could always be found cheering on his children—whether at sporting events, dance recitals, or in the classroom—always encouraging them to do their best and make him proud.
He is survived by his five children: Robert Kellaway Jr. (Mali), Darlene (Michael), Bradford (Elvira), Melanie, and Casandra (Bobbi); his brother John (Terry); and his sister Susan (Keith). He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren—some of whom were fortunate to know and spend time with him—and 7 great-grandchildren who will come to know him through the stories, traditions, and memories lovingly passed down in his name.
Robert’s legacy lives on in his family, his music, and the lasting impact of a life well lived. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
