Saranac Robert M. "Bobby" Parker,63, of Saranac, NY, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the UVM CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with his loving family by his side. He was born in Fort Hood, TX on May 14, 1952 the son of Charles and Madelyn (Milne) Parker. Bobby graduated from Saranac Central High School in 1971. Bobby worked as a corrections officer for over 30 years until his retirement from Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, NY. Bobby was a sports enthusiast, loving and watching all sports. He also enjoyed watching and listening to nature alongside his best friend and canine companion, Kenna. He will be remembered for his big heart and care of all animals. He was predeceased by his brothers, David Parker and Allen Parker, his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Ethel Milne, his paternal grandparents, George Parker and Mary Ann Genung-Parker. Bobby is survived by his parents, his daughters; Marci Smith and her husband Michael, and Shannon Smart and her husband Joshua, his grandsons, Adam Parker Smith and Colby Joshua Smart, his brothers; Steven Parker and his wife Debra, and Christopher Parker, and several nieces and nephews also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Friday March 11, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Church of the Assumption in Redford, NY. Burial will be in Saranac Independence Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Elmore SPCA, or the St. Jude Children's Hospital or have a Mass said in Bobby's name.
