Robert Nyman "Bob" Robertson

Plattsburgh Robert Nyman "Bob" Robertson, 67, of Underwood Avenue, Plattsburgh, NY passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at his home. He was born in Tucumcari, New Mexico on December 19, 1947 the son of E. N. and Dorothy (Smith) Robertson. Bob graduated from Tucumcari High School Class of 1965. He enlisted in the U. S. Army and proudly served his country in Vietnam where he was an airplane mechanic. Bob worked as an automobile mechanic his entire life, having his own business, Nyman Automotive on Bridge Street and later retired from Plattsburgh Ford where he was a Certified Master Mechanic. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, playing golf with his son Ross, listening to music, and animals, especially cats. Bob also enjoyed cooking and barbecuing large dinners for his family. He was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Bob was predeceased by his parents, his wife Theresa (Noonan) Robertson and his half-brother Lee Smith. He is survived by a son Ross Robertson of Plattsburgh, two daughters; Bridgette Robertson of West Chazy and Tracy Downey of Beekmantown and her children; Joel, Sarah and Erin Downey of Beekmantown, a sister Vivian Coates of Clovis, NM, Terri Mahoney of Plattsburgh, and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A Celebration of his Life will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the home of Terri Mahoney, 20 Dennis Avenue, Plattsburgh, NY.
