Rodney Rivers

West Chazy Mr. Rodney Rivers, 65, of Pine Hedge Dr., passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the UVM Health Network-CVPH in Plattsburgh with family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on October 17, 1950, the son of the late Joseph and Lita (Jarvis) Rivers. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Coast Guard. He retired as a Sergeant with the New York State Department of Corrections after 23 years of service. Rodney loved to be outdoors, hunting or riding his motorcycle. He had a passion for dog sledding, and riding the dog sled trails. He is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Rivers, his son Rodney E. Rivers and his wife Vida, his daughter Jennifer Rivers and her companion Robert Gallagher, who was like a son, his sister Karen LePage and her companion John Martin, who was also like a son, his grandson Mavrick, several nieces and nephews, and several members of the Stearns family and his large loving, extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Robert Rivers and Gene Rivers. The family will have calling hours Monday, February 22, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the family residence.
