Rodney J. Soucy

Rodney J. Soucy, 83, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility. He was born on January 5th, 1942, the son of Victor Soucy and Roseann (Trombley) Soucy.

Rodney had a long career in the Plattsburgh City School District. He worked in multiple district buildings, but most time was spent at Bailey Avenue School as a custodian. Later in his career he switched to a district wide assignment maintaining buildings and grounds. Rodney was a dedicated employee and took great pride in his work for the district. Rodney loved hunting for treasure with his metal detector and found missing jewelry for colleagues and friends on several occasions. He was also an avid Cardinal Hockey fan. Rodney is survived by; his daughter Bethany (Jason) LeClair of Morrisonville, NY, two sisters, Yvonne Robertson of St. Louis, Missouri, and Rhea (Thomas) Linkous of Ruckersville, VA, a brother Denis(Peggy) of Woodbridge VA, and many nieces and nephews. Rodney was predeceased by his wife Dawn in 2009, his mother Roseann in 2012, his father Victor in 1982 and his brother Victor Jr. in 1986.

Rodney was an animal lover and adopted pets in his lifetime so in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Elmore SPCA or your local animal shelter.

Calling hours will take place on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh, New York. A Prayer Service will follow with Father Reamer.
