Roger A Lucia

Altona Mr. Roger A. Lucia, 91, of Bloomer Street, Altona, NY passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Altona, New York on June 2, 1924 the son of Velia and Eva (Hemingway) Lucia. Roger proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force during WWII. He worked for various construction firms as well as a logger. Roger was a member of Holy Angels church in Altona. Roger enjoyed being outdoors; hunting, trapping, and fishing. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Hildred Lucia, his son, Ronald Lucia, siblings; Doris Goodrow, Dolphus Lucia, and Donald Lucia. Roger is survived by three sons Robert Lucia of Altona, Thomas Lucia of Altona and Roger Lucia, Jr. and his wife Linda of West Chazy, a daughter Karen Mortis and her husband Rod of Rome, New York, his daughter in-law, Glenda Lucia, his brother, Leeward and his wife Betty of Altona, his sisters; Irene Young of Plattsburgh, Marie LaValley of Mooers Forks, Theresa Narrow and her husband Richard of Altona, his grandchildren, Ronald Lucia Jr., Lynn LeClair and her husband Andrew, Hilary Huising and her husband Mathew, Amanda Wrye, Nichole Dominy, his greatgrandchildren; Savannah Lucia, Ayden Wrye, Evan Wrye, Keaton Lucia, Haley Huising and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 3123 Miner Farm Road, Altona, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 11:00 am at Holy Angels Church, Altona. Interment will follow in the family plot at Holy Angels Cemetery.
