Rolland B Barber

Beekmantown Rolland B. "Ronnie" Barber, 81, of the Rooney Road, Beekmantown, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side, under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on October 10, 1934, the son of Robert and Wilma (Desso) Barber. Rolland married the love of his life Sally A. Buttery on December 11, 1954 at the Methodist Church in Plattsburgh. He worked at the Imperial Wallpaper Mill in Plattsburgh until his retirement in 1995. Ronnie loved to fish and garden, watch WWE wrestling and playing poker. He was also kind, humble, and generous and loved to make people smile. He was predeceased by his sweetheart of a wife Sally of forty-eight years, his daughter Lorri A. Rizzie, his parents Robert and Wilma, and his sister Beverly Everhart. He is survived by his children Debra and her husband William Lopez, Dennis Barber, Roland and his wife Susan (Haines) Barber, Tammy and her husband Keith Berg, Barbara A. Barber and her husband Bruce Perkins and son in law Walter Rizzie. His nine grandchildren Roland, Roxanne, Rachel and Justin Barber, Ryan Barber and Brandon Berg, Jennifer, Elisa and Leeann Rizzie and Shawna Perkins. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren and his brother Robert Barber. Calling hours will be held on Friday April 8, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with the Rev. William G. Reamer, pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church officiating.
