West Chazy Mr. Ronald E. "Ron" Lee, 69 of the Military Turnpike, West Chazy, New York passed away, Friday, October 16, 2009 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born in Clymer, Pennsylvania on June 23, 1940 the son of Arthur E. and Pearl (Gardner) Lee. Ron retired from the U. S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He then worked at Plattsburgh Air Force Base for AAFES retiring 1995 with the closure of the Base. Ron raised beef cattle and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, helping the people of the community of Altona and spending time with family. He was President of the Altona Rockside Senior Citizens. Ron volunteered at Holy Angel's Church, served on the Board of Directors for the Altona Senior Housing and was a candidate for town council. He was predeceased by his parents and his grandmother Kate who was instrumental in raising him. Ron is survived by his companion of 29 years Chiyoko Leslie of Altona, two daughters; Robin Stasch and her husband Garry of San Diego, California, Kathy Vann and her husband Ruben of Louisa, Virginia, three stepchildren; Richard Leslie and his wife Lynn of Farmington, Maine, Janice Morse and her husband Carl of Peru, New York, James Leslie of South Lake Tahoe, California, his grandchildren; Jessica, Tanya, Candice, Keagan, Dakota, Tabitha, Richie, Nicholas, Christina, Taylor and Mycah, his great grandchildren; Leeya, Madison, Kaylee, Ava, Zachary and Dominic, two brothers; Jack Lee and his wife Carol of New Jersey, Richard Lee of Georgia, a half brother Arthur Lee and his wife Karin of Texas, his maternal half siblings; Darlene Bence and her husband Dennis of Pennsylvania, Dennis Rice and his wife Ann of Pennsylvania, Debbie Coughanour and her husband Mark of Pennsylvania, a step sister Kay Leary and her husband Ed of Pennsylvania, his stepbrother, Bill Rice and his wife Vicki of Louisiana, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Brown Funeral Home, 3123 Miner Farm Road, Altona, New York. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Angel's Church, Altona. Following cremation, entombment will be at Whispering Maples Mausoleum in Ellenburg Depot, New York. Friends wishing may make donations to the Altona Rockside Senior Citizens.
