Plattsburgh, NY – Rose M. Shatlaw, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed peacefully at the age of 83 on Monday, February 23, 2026. Born into a loving family on August 15, 1942, in Chateaugay, NY, Rose spent her life caring for those around her with warmth and devotion.

A dedicated homemaker, Rose created a loving and nurturing environment for her family. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Leo Shatlaw, her parents, Henry and Margaret Martin, and her sister, Bettyanne Silver.

Rose is survived by her children, Jo Ormsbee, of Mooers, NY, and sons Leo Shatlaw Jr., and Ricky Shatlaw, along with a daughter, Rose Mary Grant. Her siblings, Leonard Martin, Christine Violett, Henry Martin, Tammy LaPage, Gladys Martin, Dorothy Trombley, and Douglass Martin stand as testament to the deep familial bonds she treasured.

Beloved by many, Rose leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews, who will continue to carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.

Rose had a passion for life and found joy in the simple moments. She was an avid fan of soap operas, especially "Days of Our Lives," which she never missed. Her loyal companion, Duke the cat, remains a part of the family, offering a small piece of the comfort she always provided.

In honoring her memory, the family will gather to celebrate a life well-lived, filled with laughter and love. Services have been lovingly arranged by Brown Funeral Homes in Plattsburgh, NY.

Rose M. Shatlaw will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who knew her and loved her. Rest in peace, dear Rose; your love and spirit will endure in all of us.
