Rosemary Monty

Rosemary Monty beloved mother, grandmother, and friend - passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at CVPH Medical Center. The daughter Oral Joseph Latour and Helene (Lucia) Latour, she was born on May 26th, 1935 in Plattsburgh, NY.

Rosemary worked at the Children's home as a den mother to 22 boys for several years. She also helped run the family owed business store/gas station, Monty's Gulf, on RTE. 9 North. Rosemary was also an Avon Representative for over 25 years, winning multiple Presidential awards for all her hard work.

Rosemary will be remembered for her kind heartedness and her beautiful smile whenever you walked into the room. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, riding her bike and going to Gus' Red Hots for coffee and socializing. She was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed to to church with her husband, Gerald.

Rosemary married the love of her life, Gerald W. Monty, on January 10, 1953. They shared 68 loving years together until his passing on July 2, 2021.
She was a compassionate and loving mother to her four children, Cheryl Monty of Plattsburgh; Rick (Cindy) Monty of Saranac Lake; Donna (Adrian) Beaudet of Deerfield, Florida; and John (Mary Ann) Monty of Saranac Lake. She will further be deeply missed by nine grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Nana": Angela, Richard, Jarrett, Danielle, Cherri, Ben, Frank, Brittany and Christian. She is survived by 12 great grandchildren and her sister Starr (Bob) Favreau.

She is predeceased by her husband; her parents; granddaughter Megan Beaudet; and siblings; Bruce Latour and Donald Dapo.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 10:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Chazy.
