Stanley D Wood

Stanley D. Wood, 79, of Plattsburgh passed away, Monday, January 3, 2022 at UVHN:CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Broom, KS on January 8, 1942, son of William and Julia (Travis) Wood.
He married Patricia Gonyo, August 8, 1964 at St. Joseph’s Church in Mooers, NY. He was a faithful parishioner of St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Plattsburgh as a Clerk. Stanley also owned and operated Hockey Plus in Plattsburgh for many years.
Stanley was predeceased by his parents and his wife Patricia in 2017
He is survived by his children; John Wood and his wife Jamie of Marietta, NY, and their children, Jacob and his wife Brooke, Jared and his wife Kelly and Jordan. Judy Lavigne and her husband Peter of Chazy, and their children Ashley and her companion Tim, Nicholas, Samantha her husband Ryan, and Jennifer. Jeffrey Wood of Plattsburgh, Janet Hankins and her husband Benjamin of Morrisonville, and their children Nathan and Elizabeth, several nieces and nephews also survive him.
Calling hours will be Monday, January 10, 2022 from 8:30 to 9:45 am at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am at the Saint John XXIII Newman Center on Broad Street in Plattsburgh. Interment will be at Divine Mercy Cemetery later in the year.
Donations in Stanley’s memory may be made to Holy Cross Parish. Stanley’s family wishes to thank all of the health aides who cared for him and allowed him to stay in his home the last few years.
