Stephen A. Tousignant, a lifelong resident of Plattsburgh, NY, passed away at his residence on Saturday, May 9th, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on October 23rd, 1959, in Plattsburgh, Stephen was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A dedicated corrections officer, Stephen served with honor and integrity at the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, NY. His colleagues remember him as a committed professional, known for his unwavering dedication to his work and the safety of his community.

Stephen was a man of many talents and passions. Stephen enjoyed bowling with his brothers and nephews. His skills as an electrician and handyman were well-known, as he frequently lent a helping hand to neighbors and family with projects and repairs. An outdoorsman at heart, Stephen found joy in nature.

Stephen is survived by his cherished wife, Krista Tousignant, who was his rock and partner in all things. His legacy lives on through his children, Phillip Tousignant, Mikayla Taylor, and Emily Taylor-Bushey, who remember their father as a loving and supportive presence in their lives. His mother Vivian Tousignant. Stephen also leaves behind his brothers, Brian (Lisa) Tousignant and Alan (Lynn) Tousignant, sister Susan (Aric) Tousignant, and his precious granddaughter, Millie Bushey. He is fondly remembered by Donevin Edwards, partner of his daughter, and family friends Tony Bushey and Mackenzie Taylor. Stephen is also survived by his mother-in-law, Brenda Taft, and close family friend, Harold Couture. He is survived by many nieces and nephews along with many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Tousignant, whom he joins in eternal rest.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh, NY. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, followed by a funeral service from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Brown Funeral Homes - Plattsburgh.

Stephen A. Tousignant will be remembered for his warmth, his generosity, and the lasting impact he had on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Our hearts are heavy with his loss, but we celebrate a life well lived and the love he shared with all. His memory will forever be treasured.
