Mrs. Susan A. Fifield (Sue) Obituary
Schenectady, New York - Susan A. Fifield, 77, passed away peacefully at her home in Schenectady on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Agnes and Carl Guynup. Susan was a graduate of Saranac Central High School and continued her education at SUNY Plattsburgh. She went on to dedicate more than 25 years of service to Aramark at Albany Medical Center Hospital, where she was known for her strong work ethic and warm personality.

In her youth, Susan was a communicant of St. James Church in Cadyville, N.Y. After moving to the Capital Region, she became a longtime communicant of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Schenectady, where her faith remained an important part of her life.

Susan was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She found great joy in making crafts, playing Scrabble, and spending time with her family, especially her cherished grandchildren.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Fifield, whom she married in 1967; her children, Beth Susan (Neil) Hodgson, Barbara Lynn (Angelo) Guzman, and Richard Gilbert (Tracey) Fifield; and her treasured grandchildren, Cecelia, Anthony, Thomas, Morgan, Hannah, and Rebekka. She is also survived by her siblings, Daniel (Peggy) Guynup, Andrew (Judy) Guynup, Ellen (James) Lundy, Russell (Laura) Guynup, and Miles (April) Guynup, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Susan was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and William Guynup.

Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2026, at Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, N.Y. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at St. James Church, 26 Church Rd., Cadyville, N.Y., with interment to follow in St. James Cemetery, Cadyville, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes in Susan's memory.
