Tammy Ann Bayles
February 25, 1963 – August 26, 2025
Tammy Ann Bayles, 62, of Plattsburgh, NY, passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 26, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on February 25, 1963, Tammy was a lifelong resident of the North Country, where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and selfless dedication to others. She was known for her huge heart, her boundless generosity, and her unwavering willingness to help anyone in need—often giving the shirt off her back without a second thought.
Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Ann Fountain of Plattsburgh; her in-laws Phyllis Bayles of Plattsburgh, William Bayles of Louisiana, and Ronald Brenan of Plattsburgh; her brother, Michael Fountain of Cadyville; and her in-laws David Bayles of Plattsburgh, Sandra Snide of Champlain, and Debbie Fountain of West Chazy.
She is survived by her loving father, Oreal Fountain Jr. of Plattsburgh; her devoted husband, Barry Bayles of Plattsburgh; her daughters, Nikki and her husband Matthew Catlin of Morrisonville, and Danielle Bayles of Plattsburgh; her grandchildren, Jacob Bayles (Spence) and his fiancée Roze Stewart of Plattsburgh, Ashtyn Catlin (Best Friend) and Margaret Catlin (Magpie) of Morrisonville, and AJ Gifford (Toot) and CJ Cook (Boogie) of Plattsburgh; and her great-grandson, Scott Bayles of Plattsburgh — all of whom she adored with every fiber of her being.
Tammy was not only a proud grandmother, but also a loving nanny to her grandchildren, caring for them with the same deep devotion and joy she gave to everyone in her life.
She is also survived by her siblings: Oreal Fountain III of Plattsburgh, Mark and his wife Tracie Fountain of Plattsburgh, and Dan and his wife Kim Fountain of Mooers. She also leaves behind beloved in-laws Alyssa Bayles and her companion Shane Roberts of Chazy Lake, Terry Fountain of Cadyville, Rebekah Bayles of Plattsburgh, Richard Snide of Champlain, and Paul Brenan of Plattsburgh, along with many nieces and nephews whom she helped raise and cherished as her own.
Throughout her life, Tammy took great pride in being a full-time nanny, especially to her nieces and nephews and later her grandchildren — offering love, care, and stability in every hug and every moment. Her home was a haven for her children’s friends and anyone in need—Tammy never turned away a soul.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life: camping trips, bingo nights, and occasional visits to the casino. One of her greatest joys was watching her grandson Ashtyn play hockey—she was always his proudest cheerleader.
Tammy was a woman of faith, a lifelong Catholic, and a source of strength and compassion for those around her.
Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Victory Church (OLVA) on Tuesday, September 2nd at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at St. Peter’s Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will take place later that same day; location to be announced.
Tammy will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, caring sister, loyal friend, and nurturing nanny. Her legacy of kindness and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
