Teresa N Defayette

Teresa N. Defayette of Plattsburgh, NY passed peacefully August 14, 2026, at UVM-CVPH Medical Center.

She was born on January 31, 1925, in Middlebury, VT, the daughter of George and Marie Mitchell.

Teresa worked for Dr. Edward McDowell for 10 years. She then worked for Key Bank, retiring after 23 years.

Teresa was a life member of the Rosary Alter Society of St. Peter’s Church.

Teresa is predeceased by her husband Orel Defayette, they married on April 22, 1946.

Teresa is survived by her and Orel’s two daughters, Linda Tucker, Jane Perkins and husband Rob.

Teresa is also survived by three grandchildren and their spouses, Jeffrey Lozier wife Kristie, Mark Perkins wife Peggy, Kate Lakey husband Brian. As well as several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her great-grandchild Emely (Kate), son-in-law Allison Tucker and several brothers and sisters.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 12 to 2pm at the Brown Funeral Home, A funeral service will be after visiting hours at 2pm. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
