Terry "Slim" J. Bechard

Terry (Slim) J. Bechard, 69, of Plattsburgh, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at his residence. He was born on June 22nd, 1956, the sixth child of Alex Bechard and Doris (Trombly) Bechard.

Terry graduated from Chazy Central Rural School in 1974, where he played on the soccer team, then Plattsburgh State with a BA in Communications. Terry worked for Kings Department Store, Lake Champlain Pools and IBM in Burlington, VT. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed discussing their team roster.

In 1978 Terry suffered a tragic auto accident. After years of recovery, Terry was able to live independently in Plattsburgh. He truly was a friend of all who crossed his daily path.

He is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Alex (Spike) and Barbara Bechard of Chazy, Bruce and Lynne Bechard of Poway, CA, Steve and Vina Bechard of Plattsburgh, Tim and Kathy Bechard of Lake George, Cindy and Bob Roy of Chazy Matt Bechard of Chazy and Nancy and Fred Lagoy of Cadyville, NY, he is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his special friend, KT.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A prayer service will follow. Graveside service will take place in the spring at St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Chazy.

Immediately after the service, all are welcome to gather at Old Soul Design Shop to share their memories of Slim.
