Theodore W. Ginett, 78, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026. He was born June 3, 1947, in Plattsburgh, the son of Winfred and Lois Ginett.

Ted was a proud Vietnam Veteran. In 1966, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country as a Radarman Second Class aboard the USS Bradley. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy on December 9, 1971, and returned home to Plattsburgh, where he worked alongside his father as a Postal Highway Contractor delivering mail from 1971 until 2025 for the United States Postal Service. Through decades of dedication, Ted became a familiar and dependable presence to many throughout the area.

Ted, known to his grandchildren as Papa, enjoyed spending time with his family and especially cherished attending dance competitions and athletic events for his grandchildren, always showing up with pride and encouragement for each of their accomplishments. He treasured the simple moments at home as well, whether it was gathering around the table for card games with family or spending quiet evenings putting together puzzles with his beloved wife, Nancy. Ted also had a deep interest in genealogy and took great pride in studying and tracing his family line, preserving stories and connections that meant so much to him and to future generations.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Nancy Ginett, whose long and loving marriage with Ted was the foundation of their family and a source of strength and joy throughout his life. He is also survived by his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren: Diane and Peter Rushford of Cicero and their children, Abigail and Matthew Rushford; Jennifer and Ronald Rescignano of Syracuse and their child, Ryalyn Rushford; and Tracy and Jesse Ralph of Plattsburgh and their children, Ethan and Laylah Ralph.

Ted was predeceased by his parents, Winfred and Lois Ginett, and his sister, Alice Shambo.
