Theresa Louise Andre

May 4, 1932 — April 9, 2026

Cadyville, NY

Theresa Louise Andre, 93 years young, passed into the arms of our Savior on April 9, 2026. She was born on May 4, 1932, to William and Julia Dugnette.

Theresa graduated from St. John’s Academy in Plattsburgh, N.Y. in 1950. She continued her education and graduated from the Champlain Valley School of Nursing in 1953. Her nursing career began at CVPH, but her true calling was as a geriatric nurse at Clinton County Nursing Home, retiring from there in 1990.

Theresa served the community in many ways. She was a past member of the Champlain Valley School of Nursing, served at one time on the Board of Office at the Aging, a member of the St. James Altar Society in Cadyville for many years, where she supervised many church functions. She also volunteered as an election inspector in Cadyville.

Theresa loved going to social gatherings and it was at one of these events when she met the love of her life, James Andre of Croghan, N.Y. They were married at St. James Church in Cadyville on June 15, 1957 and spent 63 years together. They enjoyed cross-country skiing, snowmobiling with friends and family, traveling in their motor home, and spending winters in Florida or South Carolina.

Theresa was not only a professional caregiver; caring and giving to others was a way of life for her. She was an amazing cook and baker, and many friends and family were recipients of her culinary skills. She was a shoulder to cry on, a sounding board, a sympathetic ear, and a gentle touch all of her life. She was extremely proud of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and they were the joy of her life.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Lori (Curtis) Latremore; sons Daniel (Karen) Andre, Paul (Susan) Andre, and Matthew Andre. Her nine grandchildren: Kelsey (Brennan) Stanton, Kegan Latremore, Kinnan Latremore, Kristie (Eric) Parmeter, Renee Andre, Tyler Andre, Jacob Andre, Heath (Jessica) Andre, and John (Jocelyn) Andre. She also leaves three great-grandchildren: Piper Stanton, Asher Stanton, and Liam Andre.

Theresa was predeceased by her husband Jim, her son Stephen, a grandson Cody, her parents William and Julia, her in-laws Niles and Beatrice, and her five brothers and four sisters.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral mass to celebrate Theresa’s life will be held on Friday, April 17, at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Church in Cadyville, N.Y.

A very special thank you to the staff at Pine Harbour Hospice of the North Country, and to Dr. Anthony Vaccaro and Dr. Debra Clark. We truly appreciate everything you did for our Theresa.
