Therese M Courneene

Rouses Point Therese M. Courneene, 80, of Lake Street, Rouses Point, passed away on Monday May 30, 2016 at Pittsboro Christian Village in Pittsboro, N.C. after a brief illness with her family by her side under the care of Hospice. She was born in St. Paul Ils Aux Nois, PQ, Canada on October 13, 1935, the daughter of Rene and Marie Jeanne (Poulin) Gagnon. Therese worked for Courneene Electric and later for Key Bank in Plattsburgh. She enjoyed traveling, wintering in Florida, golfing, playing tennis, playing cards like "31" and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Therese' was a member of the Lions Club and Ladies of Elks. Therese was predeceased by her parents, her husband Jack and a brother Gerald. She is survived by her children; Lisa Bruno and her husband Michael of Plattsburgh, Dan Courneene and his wife Heather of Plattsburgh, Renee McCauley and her husband Thomas of Naples, FL, five grandchildren; Ashley LaVarnway and her husband Ryan, Hayden Courneene and her companion Seth Boone, Tommy McCauley and his wife Brittany, Brendan Courneene, Hunter Bruno, two great grandchildren; Gavin and Grady LaVarnway, her siblings; Normand Gagnon and his wife Carmen of Canada and Cecile Ford and her husband John of Pittsboro, NC, several nieces and nephews also survive her. Calling hours will be held on Monday June 6, 2016 from 10:30 to 12:30 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
