Wanda M. Bogacz August 5, 1952 — October 4, 2025
Wanda M. Bogacz, 73, of Plattsburgh, NY, passed away peacefully at home on October 4, 2025, after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Born August 5, 1952, in Schuyler Falls, she was the daughter of Marion (Lecuyer) and Charles Rabideau.
Wanda was a warm, down-to-earth woman whose greatest joy was her family. For 29 years she worked at V. Frass, finishing her career as a supervisor of distribution, where she was known for her steady work ethic and friendly, practical nature. At home she was the heart of everyday life - the one who made holidays feel special, who filled her house with lights and decorations at Christmastime, and who loved nothing more than welcoming family and friends through her door. She was especially protective making sure to watch over her 90-year-old neighbor. Her competitive nature also brought many laughs to family events.
She treasured simple routines and small adventures: browsing yard sales and craft fairs in search of the perfect chicken or a bright cardinal decoration, quiet mornings of bird watching and calls with her sister Linda, four o’clock coffee with Mo and trips the casino with her husband Mike. Throughout the years she spent time fishing and enjoyed time at Lake George camping with her grandchildren who brought her a great deal of pride and happiness.
Wanda is survived by her husband of 55 years, Michael L. Bogacz; they were married September 5, 1970, in Cadyville, NY. She leaves behind her son Michael R. Bogacz and his wife Cara of Massachusetts along with their children, Kylie and Jacob; her son Kevin Bogacz of Plattsburgh and his children, Briana and Maddie; her sister Linda Collins; her special niece Brenda Racette; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends who will hold her memory close. She was predeceased by her siblings Marvin Lecuyer, Joan Martin, Connie Derocher and Charles Rabideau Jr. (Joe).
We will remember Wanda for her generous heart, her loving home, and the calm strength she offered to those around her. She had a way of making ordinary moments feel meaningful and of finding joy in small things. Her family’s lives are richer for the love she gave.
Calling hours will be held at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh, NY from 10:30am – 12:00pm. Funeral services will follow immediately at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville, NY.
She will be laid to rest In St. Alexander’s Cemetery (Magdala Solitude). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wanda’s memory to the American Cancer Society or the National Audubon Society.
The family is grateful for the care, kindness and support shown by friends and neighbors.
