Wayne G "Smitty" Smith

Plattsburgh Mr. Wayne G. "Smitty" Smith, 77 of Route 9 North, Plattsburgh, NY passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2016 at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility with his family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on August 9, 1939 the son of Grant and Alma (Maurice) Smith. Smitty served in the U. S. Army. He later worked at Bouyea Bakery. He was a crew chief at Airborne for the J & J Discount racing team. Smitty enjoyed fishing and feeding the birds. Smitty was predeceased by his parents, his wife Carole L. Smith and a granddaughter Brandy Beshon. He is survived by a daughter Linda Beshon and her fiancé George Cassevah of Plattsburgh, a son David Smith of Plattsburgh, two grandchildren; Teri Betters and her husband Wayne of Plattsburgh, Brad Beshon of Plattsburgh, 3 great grandchildren; Destiny, Whynter and Noelle Betters. At Wayne's request there will no services. Interment will be at St. Mary's of the Lake Cemetery on Cumberland Head.
