William O. Wemette

William (Bill) Wemette passed away unexpectedly on May 20, 2025 at the age of 70. Bill was born on January 21, 1955, the son of Ernest Wemette and Mary (Smith) Coolidge. Bill lived his entire life in Lake Placid, NY, surrounded by the woods and rivers.

A gifted builder and devoted outdoorsman, Bill had a true talent for working with his hands. Whether constructing something from the ground up or spending time hunting and fishing, he found meaning in creating and connecting with the outdoors.

He is survived by his daughter Ashley Herd and her husband Jim; his son Jason Wemette and his wife Kelly; and his son Joshua Wemette and his partner Laura. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Jasper and George Herd and Emery and Jackson Wemette as well as a sister, Norma Gwynn.

Bill was predeceased by his parents as well as his beloved sisters Betty Blaise, Helen Knapp, and Junie Coolidge, whose memories he carried with him always.

There are no services scheduled at this time. Bill’s memory will be honored by his family in a private gathering at a later date.
