Joanne M Ryan (Barnard)

Morrisonville Joanne M. Ryan, 70, of Morrisonville passed away Sunday June 11, 2017 at the UVM Health Network- CVPH with her family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh, New York on November 20, 1946 the daughter of Roma and Ann (Quinn) Barnard. She married James Ryan on February 19, 1966 in St. Alexander's Church. She was a very devoted catholic. She relied on her faith and family all during her life. She was always known for her motherly care for her family and taking care of numerous children throughout her life. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, James Ryan, her daughter; Beth Christon and her husband, Larry, and their children; Kevin Doherty, Ted Sill and his husband Bill, Melissa Doherty, Spencer Christon and Taylor Christon, her daughter, Paula Derocher and her husband Bruce, and their children; Chris Derocher and his wife Whitney, Shawn Derocher and Heather Derocher, and her son Jim Ryan and his wife Susie, and their children, Jason Favaro and Carson Ryan, her great-grandchildren; Harmony Doherty, Everett and Neal Derocher, her siblings, Margaret Thew and her husband John, Mary Barnard, Patty Blair, Roger Barnard and his wife Connie, Tom Barnard and his wife Collette, her close friends; Lorraine Curley, Nancy Bessette, and Susan Goddeau, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. The family would like to thank the compassionate care from the 5th Floor at the UVM CVPH Medical Center, Dr. Griffin and the staff at the FitzPatrick Cancer Center.
